Crochet Granny Stripe Blanky

I'm delighted to have finished my Granny Stripe blanket just in time for the arrival of the snow here in Dublin. I really enjoyed making this, its so easy, the perfect project for hooking along to while snuggled up beside the fire. I think I will definitely be making more of these!

Christmas 2012

This year for the first time we hosted Christmas dinner in our house with my parents. I really wanted to make the table look extra special- sparkly, crisp and warm. I decided on purple and grey/silver for the main colours, I didn't want to go for anything too traditional. I made some vertical table runners out of some leftover fabric and decided to keep them plain so I could use them again throughout the year, I also ran up some purple napkins. I picked up two sparkly vases for a bargain 2 euro each and choose some gorgeous flowers to arrange in them from The Garden in Powerscourt townhouse. The table was finished off with some candles, sparkly crackers and some felt snowflake place mats from Designist that I'd treated myself to earlier in the year. It was a lovely day and I hope I can do it again next year.

Buzz and Lola had a great too with there Granny and Grandad over..helping to open presents and clean up the leftovers. I made some little crochet collars for them, next year I think I'll have to attempt full outfits!

Renovation After Pics...at last!

Finally I am able to post some pictures of our completed renovation. Still some finishing touches to add when  the piggy bank is full again but I am delighted with the result we have so far.

When we first moved into our house in 2008 the sitting room and kitchen looked like this.

Before.....

During the summer we finally got to start the renovations we had planned and after knocking down the dividing wall and months of hard work it now looks like this..

After....

I will post some details of where everything is from later.

So what do you think? I'd love to here from you :-)
