Crocheted Lounging Blanket

Photos:Top left by Holly Becker for Decor8; All others taken by Hilary Glynn

I've just finished making this granny stripe lap blanket and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. It was inspired by a photo from Holly Becker of Decor 8. I loved the way the pink flowers looked in the brass colored vase. The blanket is made from lovely soft bamboo cotton (apart from the metallic yarn in the border). It took a bit of searching to find the metallic yarn but I eventually found it tucked away in Winnies Craft Cafe, a fab shop in Booterstown (Dublin) that also sells online.
So what do you think? do you like the color combination?

    1. Thanks Doodlebug, I was really happy with how it turned out, I had a moment of doubt when I started the metallic row but once I got to the hot pink I could breath a sigh of relief!

  3. I adore this. The colours too. What I like the most is how neat it is. The tension of the wool is looking constant through out. I LOVE bamboo fiber. Have some clothes in it. So good for your skin and our planet. Lovely all round. I would have it in my home.

  9. Oh my god Hilary, this blanket is amazing. I just started crocheting a blanket a couple of weeks ago, and this makes me want to tare it all back and start over! I LOVE that you drew inspiration from Holly's photo. It perfectly encapsulates it. And more importantly, I adore the grey, gold and pink. I need that gold yarn in my life, five minutes ago.

You must tell me where you got your grey and pink wool! And how much you used / how big is the blanket. Seriously want to start mine over again.

    xx A
